5W30 OIL - My vehicle is equipped with a particle filter. Should I only use 5w30?

Answer: There is no incompatibility between a particle filter and 5w40 or 10w40 + Mécacyl. 5w30 is recommended when not using Mécacyl as it’s an oil that blackens a bit less than 5w40 and less than 10w40. Thus, peripheral parts (EGR valves, particle filters) show less fouling. With Mécacyl, the oil is no longer subject to friction but rather almost always cooling meaning it doesn’t blacken as much as Mécacyl protects it and prevents it from fixing in a friction zone. This means that 5w40 or 10w40 are both perfectly suitable and further offer zero risk of oil consumption.

10W40 OIL - After two oil changes close together with 10W40, what type of oil should I use?

Answer: We recommend sticking with the same oil with the same viscosity we already recommended; in other words, 10w40. Mécacyl is a hyper lubricant that complements oil and does what oil can’t do.

CASTROL TRANSMAX OIL- I’m planning to use Mécacyl HY for an E46 M3 manual transmission. Is it compatible with Castrol Transmax oil?

Answer: Mécacyl is compatible with all petroleum-based polymer oils. Just petroleum polymer-based transmission fluid or engine oil and hydraulic oil.
USING Mécacyl HY: 5% in the transmission; in other words, one 100 ml bottle for every 2.5 litres of transmission fluid

TRANSELF NFP 75W80 OIL - Is
Mécacyl HY compatible with Tranself NFP 75w80 oil and transmissions with brass synchros?

Answer: Yes, Mécacyl is compatible with 75w80 oils and brass. No known incompatibilities.

COMPATIBLE OILS - Which oils can you use with Mécacyl CR?

Answer: With Mécacyl CR, you can use all types of oils, whether they are mineral-based, semi-synthetic or synthetic as long as they are made with petroleum-based polymers. You should avoid silicone-based and plant-based oils and those with a lot of alkene, and certain viscosities like 0w20 and 5w20. Please note: if your vehicle is under warranty, always use the manufacturer-recommended oil (5w30, for example). Out of all the compatible oils, we have not observed better results with one type of oil over another after the 3rd oil change. In fact, the settling time (time it takes to notice results) may vary the first 2 oil changes depending on the oil used. This is why 99% of the time, especially when oil changes are recommended rather close together, 15w40 or 10w40 oil is perfectly fine for vehicles produced before 2000 or those that run on petrol whereas 10w40 or 5w40 is perfectly fine for diesel vehicles produced after the year 2000.

TOTAL ACTIVA INEO ECS 5W30 OIL - Can you add Mécacyl CR to a 100% synthetic oil such as TOTAL ACTIVA INEO ECS 5W30?

Answer: Mécacyl is compatible with all petroleum-based polymer oils whether they are mineral-based, semi-synthetic or synthetic. Results are observed faster or slower depending on the type of oil used. “The settling time for Mécacyl CR is best with 10W40 or 15W40 oils as indicated in our instructions for use. However, as concerns the gaskets, there are no contraindications for Mécacyl CR in your engine with TOTAL ACTIVA INEO ECS 5W30, which is 100% synthetic. Once satisfied and convinced, think about using Mécacyl HY or Mécacyl BVA and Mécacyl HJE or Mécacyl HJD for even greater satisfaction.

5W30 OIL  I added Mécacyl CR to 5w30 C4 oil for particle filters. Are they incompatible?

Answer: All petroleum-based polymer oils are compatible with Mécacyl whether they are mineral-based, semi-synthetic or synthetic. Depending on the means of use, it may be technically and financially advantageous to use a 10w40 or 5w40 oil if exceptionally close oil changes are required. There is no incompatibility with Mécacyl CR ; however, a technical incoherency may delay settling. Mécacyl is not an additive; it’s a full lubricant... The principle behind oil is to deposit a film on the metal whereas the principle behind Mécacyl lubrication is, on the contrary, for the Mécacyl to work in such way that oil no longer comes into contact with friction and, thus, does not deposit any film which burns and oxidises over time. So, a coolant 5w30 oil will delay Mécacyl settling and the effects and results of the Mécacyl will take longer to be observed. Other than this settling period, there are no contraindications to using Mécacyl with 5w30 oil.

15W50 OIL  Can you use Mécacyl CR with 15w50 Motul 300v competition oil?

Answer: Mécacyl CR is compatible with all petroleum-based polymer oils. There are many types of 15w50 Motul 300 v, so you need to check the composition to ensure there aren’t any substances in it loaded with alkenes or other non-petroleum-based polymers.
Mécacyl is not an oil additive; the aim is not to modify the oil film. So, the risk lies in it creating miscibility with the oil. It’s not good for Mécacyl or for the oil. Miscibility is reflected in uncontrolled temperature increases or deposits in the oil. To date, we have not had any specific feedback on the 300v you mentioned.

BEL RAY EXS OIL  When changing the oil in my motorbike, can I combine 100% synthetic BEL RAY EXS oil with
Mécacyl CR?

Answer: Mécacyl CR is compatible with all petroleum-based polymer oils whether they are mineral-based, semi-synthetic or synthetic. There are many types in the BEL RAY line, so you need to check the composition to ensure there aren’t any substances in it loaded non-petroleum-based polymers.

OIL WITH ADDITIVES - Additives have been added to my oil. Can I use
Mécacyl CR?

Answer: All oils contain additives. With Mécacyl CR, you can use all types of oils, whether they are mineral-based, semi-synthetic or synthetic as long as they are made with petroleum-based polymers. PORSCHE OIL SUMP - Which products and what quantities should I use in the engine oil sump with 8L5 oil in a 2003 2L7 Porsche Boxster to eliminate engine noise (valve tappets)?

Answer:For your Porsche BOXSTER:

Use Mécacyl CR-P if it has a lot of kilometres or Mécacyl CR if it is newer. If the noise is not due to a mechanical problem, you should normally get excellent results. 1 bottle for 4 to 5 litres of oil or 2 for 8.5 litres.
Once convinced and satisfied, you may complete it with 1/3 of a well-diluted bottle of
Mécacyl HJE when refuelling 40 to 60 litres. 4 to 5 refuels later, 1/3 of the bottle and 4 to 5 refuels later, 1/3.

Mécacyl HY or Mécacyl BVA for transmission fluid changes depending on the type of transmission.

COMPATIBLE OIL + MECACYL HY - Which oil should I use with Mécacyl HY for a manual transmission?

Answer: Mécacyl is compatible with all petroleum-based polymer oils (classic transmission fluid as well as automatic transmission fluid or petroleum polymer-based engine oil and hydraulic oil).

75w80 and 80w90 oil are recommended 90% of the time for the best results.
Using Mécacyl HY5% in the transmission; in other words, one 100 ml bottle for every 2.5 litres of transmission fluid
